The village is famous for its breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayas, as well as its options for hiking and camping. Rogan Josh: Rogan means Oil and Josh means heat so it is a fiery meal made with lamb that is cooked in Oil over high heat and is then mixed with a Kashmiri spice combination.

Gushtaba Yakhni: Gushtaba Yakhni is a classic Kashmiri dish consisting of meatballs stewed in a sauce made from yoghurt. A dish for the kings, Gushtaba is meatball and yakhni is yoghurt, flavoured with savoury herbs, primarily mint.

Kahwah: A heart-warming soothing green tea drink from Kashmir that is flavoured with a mixture of Kashmiri green leaves, crushed almonds, cardamom pods, saffron strands, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon bark. It is titled often, “Tea straight from heaven”.

Tabak Maaz: It is a popular Kashmiri dish consisting of lamb rib racks which are seasoned with clarified butter. The lamb is cooked in yoghurt until it becomes soft and then it is deep-fried. So it has both crispy fried outside with juicy and tender meat inside.

Hokh Syun( Sundried vegetables): There was traditional practice to conserve the food during the winter season and now it has become a culinary delight.

Street Foods: There are some street foods popular in Kashmir. Some of them are: Nader Monji, Kenn’k Masaal, Halwe Paraath, Basrakh and Tuji.
