Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is a truly remarkable adventurous pursuit for trekkers who cannot live without scaling the mountains. Excitement knows no bounds here, as every route turns up to be more magical than the last one. The trek for which you have to arrive at Sonamarg will take you to Seven Alpine Lakes, all of which are magical in their ways. Starting from Vishansar lakes, you will be stunned to take these lake excursions one after another.

The route: Sonamarg – Nichnai Pass – Vishansar Lake – Kishnasar Lake – Gadsar Pass – Gadsar Lake – Satsar Lake – Gangabal Lake – Nundkol Lake – Naranag Srinagar

Kolahoi Glacier Trek, Anantnag

The famous trek to Kolahoi Glacier begins from the Aru Valley in the Anantnag district, a-half-an-hour drive from Pahalgam. The Glacier powers the mighty rivers of Jhelum and Lidder, which is why locals revered it as the “Goddess of Light.” Moreover, the trek route houses numerous alpine lakes, even more than Kashmir Great Lakes Trek. The only difference being this consists of many short treks as opposed to a long-trek journey of Seven Alpines lakes.

Naranag Gangabal Trek, Ganderbal

Ganderbal is located approximately 18 km from Srinagar. The town is famous for its touristy village, Naranag, which is home to an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Naranag Temple. The trek through this sacred journey will bring you to the most breathtaking scenery of Mount Harmukh. And the rest of the story is yours to tell!

The route: Srinagar – Naranag – Butsheri – Bodpathri – Trunkhol – Gangabal – Naranag – Srinagar

Aru Valley is best known among trekkers as the base camp for famous trekking expeditions. The route to the twin lakes goes through Lidderwat Valley, which will require you to cover a 9 km journey from Aru Valley. And whosoever arrived here has vouched for the lakes being the prettiest of all. These lakes are secluded in nature. Where Tarsar Lake is easier to spot, Marsar is quite elusive, shrouded in clouds.
